Credit Union Central of Manitoba (CUCM) is the trade association for Manitoba’s credit unions. CUCM provides services in areas of investment management; derivatives to manage interest rate and currency risks; a full range of banking and payment products, including being a leader in the introduction of cheque imaging; product and service research/development; consulting; representation; and advocacy at the business, government, and regulatory levels.
The Position
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Director, Lending Services is responsible for managing all aspects of the Credit department to ensure the highest quality standards of credit adjudication and risk mitigation while still serving the growth and competitive needs of credit unions. The Director leads the credit adjudication team, providing technical expertise, assigning credit limits and analyzing credit transactions within his/her limits. Working with the Deposit Guarantee Corporation of Manitoba, the Director assigns discretionary lending limits to credit unions and ensures credit union loan policies reflect current risks while maintaining competitiveness. The Director represents Manitoba credit unions on the National Lenders Committee and advocates with other provincial or national bodies as required. As a member of the Senior Management Team, the Director, Lending contributes to the strategic and operational planning and management of the organization.
The Person
The successful candidate will possess University level education in business, combined with 10-15 years managing a diverse portfolio in a commercial banking environment. Strong relationship building, mediation and communication skills are keys to success in this position as are sound analysis and decision making competencies. Thorough knowledge of legislation pertaining to lending and familiarity with the commercial/agricultural banking marketplace are necessary attributes.

The Position:
Reporting to the Manager of Accounting, the Accounting Clerk will be responsible for providing a wide range of accounting services. This position will balance and key daily ATM switch reports, import general ledger files and reconcile various general ledger and internal credit union accounts. The Accounting Clerk will also be responsible for data entry and filing of all account payable and various foreign exchange transactions.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate should have:
- Business Administration Diploma preferred or
- Agri-Business or Office Administration Diploma
- Minimum one year experience in accounting field and credit union or banking environment
- Sound computer skills with emphasis on Microsoft Excel
- Excellent organizational skills, great accuracy, communicates well and require minimal supervision
- A suitable combination of education and experience may be considered.
This position will be a salary grade 4 with monthly salary range of $2,326 -- $2,850. Crocus Credit Union offers a comprehensive benefits package, an incentive bonus program and participation in a matched superannuation pension plan.

Basic Functions:
Under general supervision, performs a variety of member client service transactions within our clearly defined policies and procedures. Duties include providing over the counter deposit services such as: accepting deposits, cashing cheques, opening & closing accounts, processing utility payments, calculating foreign exchange, processing loan payments, as well as responding to member inquires. Performs a variety of routine accounting functions and routinely receives and pays cash or other negotiable items, is responsible for custody, balancing and security of cash. The ideal candidate must be bondable and have excellent customer service skills.
Qualifications:
Must be able to provide members with prompt, professional and courteous service at all times. Must have the ability to communicate effectively with members and staff. You are a well organized individual who is always punctual and pays attention to detail. You must have the ability to work in a team oriented environment and have completed Grade 12. Knowledge of MS word, Excel and the Credit Union banking system would be an asset. Ability to speak Cree or Ojibwa would be considered an asset.

Will be based on experience and qualifications.
